The winners

Asahi

Winner of the RE100 Changemaker Award

"On behalf of everyone at Asahi Europe & International, I’d like to thank you for recognizing us with this valued award. It is a true honor to receive this award and to be nominated alongside other significant changemakers who are also striving for systemic change with long-term sustainability goals. Now more than ever, with humanity confronted by significant challenges, it has never been more important for us to live up to our purpose of creating meaningful connections with people and planet, and collectively stay the course and continue our work towards transitioning to a low-carbon economy globally, learning from and supporting each other. Together, we can go further and faster." - Paolo Lanzarotti, CEO Asahi Europe & International

Interface Inc.

Winner of the Beyond 100% Award

“At Interface, we are on a relentless mission to reduce our carbon footprint to meet our ambition of becoming a restorative and carbon negative enterprise by 2040. This extends to our procurement of renewable energy, which we’ve been using in our U.S. operations for decades. And today, globally 100 percent of the electricity used in our manufacturing sites is renewable. To be named the recipient of the RE100 Beyond 100% Award for reaching 100% renewable electricity in our operations and for our innovative sustainability strategies is a great honor, thank you. We are incredibly proud of this recognition and our teams across many functions and geographies for their ongoing commitment as we progress on our continuing sustainability journey.” - Lisa C. King, PHD, VP & Chief Innovation Officer Interface Inc.

Iron Mountain

Winner of RE100 Key Collaborator Award

"Iron Mountain's goal is to set an example that empowers customers we work with to overcome their unique sustainability hurdles in a way that makes sense for them. The role of a collaborator is not to take credit, but to unite forces across the industry to show that we are a part of the solution for global climate change." - Deborah Marson, Executive Vice President and ESG Leader Iron Mountain

Nokia

Winner of Best Newcomer Award

"When Nokia joined RE100 we committed to show leadership in renewable energy adoption in our operations and use our position in the ICT value chain to encourage suppliers and customers to take similar steps to reduce emissions by accelerating the shift to sustainable electricity. We are therefore delighted to have won the RE100 best newcomer award. It is a welcome recognition of the work that we have undertaken so far as we continue to drive our transition to 100% renewable electricity by 2025."

O'right

Winner of RE100 Enterprising Leader Award

“On our journey to achieving a net-zero vision, we’ve faced tremendous challenges, especially for a SME in Taiwan. However, lowering carbon footprint is not only the responsibility of governments or big companies. SMEs can also do it just like we did it. O'right has surpassed the committed target this year and we have a clear goal to be the first RE100 member in Taiwan who achieve the 100% renewable electricity use in 2025. We set a serial strategy that includes the establishment of solar panels and wind turbines connected with local grids, the procurement of long-term power purchase agreements and renewable energy certifications. Furthermore, we engaged and motivated our stakeholders through cross-sector collaboration in every aspects. We would like to advocate that every company or SME should take the first step in making a change by choosing renewable energy.

We know the solution. What are you waiting for? Join RE100.”

Unilever

Winner of RE100 Market Trailblazer Award

“Unilever is delighted to win RE100 Market Trailblazer at Climate Week NYC. As one of the first companies to join RE100, we are proud to be at the forefront of the transition to 100% renewable power, and we strive to be transparent and collaborative in our approach. But this is not about one company having the edge. We’ll only achieve the market change needed if we all take decisive action – from engaging our suppliers on climate action to calling on governments to accelerate the roll-out of renewable energy.” – Niki King, Head of Sustainability – North America, Unilever

The awards were open to all 360+ members of RE100, and our winners and shortlisted showcased innovative and pioneering strategies from around the globe. From new to established members, we are seeing our members drive leadership in all forms, no matter the location.

Christopher Guérin, CEO of Nexans, and headline judge of the Changemaker category said "“The members of the RE100 are not only committed to becoming 100% renewable, but by doing so are also committing to making the world a cleaner and more sustainable place to live.”
